PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR
If you are a photography enthusiast, a lover of volcanoes and adventure, you should to experience something like a sunset surrounded by lava deserts, or a sunrise looking the sun rising from 2k metres of altitude, an eruption under the stars or a night in a refuge into the wild. This is what you can live with one of the photography tours we propose.
We will visit spectacular lava tubes, will cross centuries-old woods, will dominate lava scenarios looking for the most intense light. A unique photographic experience with an adventurous mood, to discover the Great Mountain of Fire and breathtaking views of Sicily.
What kind of experience you will get on?
It is a medium-easy photographic excursion for who has a base physical training, resistance and spirit of adaptation are required. We will face together different topics about landscape photography, I will reveal techniques and tricks to obtain impactful shots. You will learn how to manage exposure and light, building a good composition, using famous shooting techniques, taking the most from your gears.
Who can take part?
Landscape photography enthusiasts, lovers of volcanoes, trekking and mountains in general. It's a good for both, beginners who needs to learn the basic photography guidelines (composition, light, camera settings), and amateur who wants to improve their skills and learn how to manage planning. This is a photographic experience to discover the most characteristic paths and sceneries of Etna.
How we behave with the weather conditions
Unstable weather conditions and the moments anticipate or follow an atmospheric event, often generate wonderful light conditions, but we put our safety first, this means could be possible to cancel the tour or not completing it. In this case we will work on to find solutions to satisfy everyone's needs.
GIANCARLO TINE'
Landscapes Photographer
This workshop will lead by the professional landscape photographer Giancarlo Tinè. Born in Ragusa, passionate with mount Etna and its incredible landscapes, he travels and organizes photographic trips abroad. His shots have gone around the world: famous is the "Light pillar" shot published by NASA which immortalizes a pillar of red light during a paroxysm of Etna. Other shots have been published in various photography magazines and national exhibitions. Giancarlo will guide you in this unique experience among the wonderful volcanic landscapes of Etna, in search of your personal photographic interpretation of one of the most active volcano on the planet.
SUNSET WORKSHOP
Photographic experience on the west side of mount Etna between woods and ancient craters. After a trek of just over an hour through a woods of beautiful larch pines, the photographer will give explanation to take photos during the Golden Light, facing topics such as composition, light management, exposure, using filters and all about the main shooting techniques. The sunset shooting session will be on the top of the De Fiore crater, from where it is possible to enjoy the sun descending over the mountains of the Sicilian hinterland with Etna towering behind it. The experience ends in the late evening.

NIGHT WORKSHOP
Photographic experience on the north side of mount Etna among woods, craters and volcanic landscapes. After a short trek the photographer will give explanation to take photos of starry skies, facing topics about the Milky Way, the moonscape, composition, exposure management, long exposure and the main shooting techniques used in night photography. Night shooting session will take place on the edge of some craters, among volcanic rocks, larch pine and some skeletons of trees burnt by the lava. The experience ends in the late evening.

FULL DAY WORKSHOP
Photographic experience on the east side of mount Etna, among caves, scenic volcanic valleys and centuries-old woods. Initial briefing on topics such as composition, light management, exposure, use of filters and the main shooting techniques. Trek and first shooting session in a lava tubes. Second shooting session on the crest of the Valle del Bove. Return to accommodation to take dinner in a Etna chalet. After dinner we will face a night short trek for a starry skies shooting, facing topics like: taking photos of the milky way , startrail, moonscape, composition, exposure timing and all about the most famous shooting techniques used in night photography. Night shooting session will take place on the edge of some craters, sorrounded by lava field and pine woods. Return to accommodation to pass the night. In the morning after breakfast in the refuge, we will reach the Ilice di Carinnu for a shooting session of one of the oldest trees in Italy, immersed in a wooded enviroment of great naturalistic impact. After we will stop for a lunch break in the nature, and will get back in the early afternoon to complete this photographic experience.
